The Recruitment of Reserve Bank of India has released the official notification for the recruitment of Officer in Grade-B.  The number of vacancies will be 160+.   • The start date for Online Registration: 03rd July 2018
  • Online Payment of Application Fees / Intimation Charges: 03rd July to 23rd July 2018
  • Date of Online Examination Tier-I: 16th August 2018
  • Date of Online Examination Tier-II: 07th September 2018

It is expected that RBI will release 166 vacancies for the post of Grade ‘B’ Officer. The vacancies are divided into the candidate’s categories (GEN, OBC, SC & ST)

Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure of RBI Grade B Exam (General) comprises of following steps –

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Mains Exam
  • Interview

While the Prelims phase is Objective in nature, Mains phase would comprise of the objective as well as descriptive test. You can go through the details of Preliminary and Mains Exams below.

Syllabus – Phase I & II
Topics asked in Prelims as well as Mains phase of RBI Grade B exam vary to a great extent. Prelims phase consists of the common sections that are asked in exams, i.e., Quant, Reasoning, English and General Awareness. Mains phase on the other hand tests Finance, Management, Economic and Social issues.

Exam Pattern (Phase I, II)

RBI Grade B Prelims exam would comprise of 4 sections, with a total 2 hours duration. The Mains phase, on the other hand, would have 3 separate tests, 2 objective and 1 descriptive.




Age Limit

To qualify in RBI exam the minimum required age is 21 years and maximum age 30 years as on 1st July 2018. If a candidate possesses M.Phil and Ph.D. degree, the upper age limits in these cases are 32 and 34 years respectively.



Educational Qualification (for RBI Grade B (General)-

Candidate should have minimum 60% marks (for SC/ ST/ PWD, 50%) or equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree, 12th (Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard.
