1. Soil Health Card Day is observed on 19 February

Soil Health Card Scheme was launched by the Government of India on 19 February 2015 in Suratgarh, Rajasthan. Under this scheme, additional income is ensured by increasing the yield of farmers and encouraging sustainable farming. Five years of this scheme have been completed. Under this, soil health cards were issued to more than 22 crore farmers in two phases. The government has spent more than seven hundred crore rupees on this scheme so far.

2. India overtakes Britain and France to become country with fifth largest economy in the world

The report said, ‘India has become the fifth-largest economy in the world with $ 2.94 lakh crore (trillion) in terms of gross domestic product (GDP). In this case, he left behind Britain and France in 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has targeted to make India a $ 5 trillion economy within the next five years.

3. India’s Sunil Kumar created history by winning the gold medal in the final of the Greco Roman on the first day of the Asian Wrestling Championship.

Sunil Greco becomes the third Indian to win gold in Roman. Rome ranking series silver medalist Sunil clinched the gold medal by unilately defeating Kyrgyzstan’s Ajat Salidinochav 5–0 in the final
Sunil also ended India’s 27-year drought by winning a gold medal in Greco Roman.

4. Delhi Police together with Uber launched ‘Himmat Plus’ app

Delhi Police along with Uber launched ‘Himmat Plus’ app at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport to ensure the safety of people traveling in cabs. Officials said that through this app, a message can be sent to the Police Headquarters in an emergency, which will know the actual position of the driver or rider and will be sent to a PCR van to provide immediate assistance.

5. Australia appointed Barry O’Frail as High Commissioner to India

Australia has appointed Barry O’Frail as the new High Commissioner to India. Barry Harindra will replace Sidhu. Sidhu was serving as the High Commissioner of Australia in India since 2016.

6. Ashraf Ghani won the election of President of Afghanistan

Ashraf Ghani has secured a second term as the President of Afghanistan. The Election Commission on Tuesday released the final results of the election held on 28 September 2019. Election Commission chief Hawa Alam Nuristani said, Election Commission declares Ashraf Ghani as President of Afghanistan with 50.64 percent votes.

7. Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria released his book ‘Let Me Say It Now’

Rakesh Maria, in his released book ‘Let Me Se It Now’, has also made big claims on many other matters including the Mumbai attack. According to the book, the ISI and Lashkar terrorists wanted to eliminate Kasab in prison and gave the responsibility to Dawood Ibrahim Gang.

8. “Chintan Camp” was organized to brainstorm on the coalfields in the census town of Kevadia in the Narmada district of Gujarat state.

It was chaired by the Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Mr. Prahlad Joshi and he said that India will stop importing thermal coal (coal used in thermal power plants) from the financial year 2023-24.
