1.Chitra Bharti Film Festival 2020 to be organized by Indian Chitra Sadhana in Ahmedabad city
The three-day festival known as Chitra Bharti Film Festival (CBFF) will begin at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad city. This will be the third edition of the festival – the first was held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh in 2016, and the second was held in 2018 at Siri Fort Auditorium in Delhi. It will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai, the festival will screen a total of 140 films.
2. Tamil Nadu’s ADMK Government announces Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary as ‘Girl Child Protection Day’
The AIADMK government of Tamil Nadu announced that on 24 February, her birth anniversary would be celebrated as ‘Girl Child Protection Day’ in honor of the diligence that late former Chief Minister Jayalalitha worked with for the welfare of children, especially girls.
Chief Minister K Palaniswami said in the Assembly that in memory of the late leader, the government will implement five new schemes for the welfare of destitute girls, including assistance of Rs two lakh through bank deposits. Jayalalithaa for pioneering initiatives like ‘Infant Rearing Scheme’
3. Indian spin bowler Pragyan Ojha announces retirement from all formats of cricket
The Indian spinner announced his retirement from all formats of cricket. He announced this on Twitter and said that he is retiring with immediate effect. Pragyan Ojha, who made his international debut in 2008, participated in professional cricket for 16 years.
4. Former President of the Indian Federation of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) VL Dutt passed away
Former FICCI chairman and KCP Group executive chairman VL Dutt died at the age of 82. He served as President of FICCI for one year from 1991 to 1992. He was also the chairman of the India-Vietnam Joint Business Council of FICCI.
5. India-Myanmar signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to start the bus service
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between India and Myanmar on 14 February between Shwe Mandalar Express Company Limited, Yangon and Seven Sisters Holiday, Imphal. This MoU was signed under the Act East Policy.
6. Kotak Mahindra Bank gets approval to reduce promoter’s stake from Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
According to private sector Kotak Mahindra Bank, the Reserve Bank of India has given its final approval to the promoter’s stake in the bank by reducing it to 26 per cent.
