First Dugong Conservation Reserve to be built in India


India’s first Dugong conservation reserve will be built in Tamil Nadu for the conservation of Dugong, a marine animal that has been enlisted vulnerable to extinction on a global scale by the World Conservation Union (IUCN).



Principal Secretary, Environment Climate Change & Forests, Government of Tamil Nadu, Supriya Sahu is She wrote, “Government of Tamil Nadu will set up India’s first Dugong Conservation Reserve in the Palk Bay.”
